Welcome to the Strathearn Music Society website. We are delighted to offer our usual series of six live concerts, beginning with the Flute Viola Harp Trio on Wednesday 11th September!
As a society we take pride and pleasure in bringing a wide range of exceptional musicians to Crieff. Our concert programme is carefully chosen to explore the breadth of chamber music available, introducing new performers and pieces alongside more familiar repertoire.
We are very fortunate to have Dr James MacMillan CBE FRSE as our patron. Dr MacMillan is one of the UK’s most famous and best-loved composers, known for deeply spiritual works with more than a hint of traditional Scots influence. He is a wonderful communicator, not only through his music, but also in his encouragement of music making in Scotland. The Cumnock Tryst, which he founded, was created to bring some of the world’s greatest musicians into local venues and it is a great honour for us to have him as our patron.
The society could not survive, never mind thrive, without the valuable support of Chamber Music Scotland, our members, including our honorary president Frances Farr, and our regular audience. We have an exciting programme ahead, including the ever popular Tim Kliphuis Trio, as well as various guitar, piano and brass ensmebles. We look forward to welcoming you to our concerts.
