Concerts in Crieff – celebrating our 61st Season!
The end of summer is approaching, and I am writing this while some much-needed rain drenches my thirsty garden. It’s ‘back to school time’, as choirs and camera clubs restart after their summer break, and we bring you our new Concerts in Crieff programme. We have a wide range of performers, instruments and musical repertoire to tempt you along on a Wednesday evening.
We open on 16th September with the violin and accordion duo ADlibitum playing Vivaldi, Albeniz and Ravel. In October Richard Scholfield and Iain Clarke will play music by Bach, Bizet and Debussy and an evening of Baroque from the Telemann Ensemble brings the first half of our season to a close. The new year begins with Percussi Aeris, their programme including Rimsky-Korsakov, Gershwin and Morricone. Murray McLachlan will join us in February to celebrate the pian music of Beethoven, and our formal season finishes with Tunnel Trust winners the Isla String Quartet.
As last year, we have two standalone concerts which offer something a little different. In April the Scottish Clarinet Choir will present a Sunday afternoon concert, where you can enjoy a range of familiar and new tunes, and meet the different members of the Clarinet family. Our ever popular jazz evening will be given by Scottish jazz maestro and all-round entertainer Richard Michael.
Our season ticket offer is £64 and remains exceptional value, giving you six concerts for the price of four. If you are unable to attend you may pass your ticket to a friend, and your season ticket also entitles you to a discount at other East of Scotland Music Society concerts.
If you would like to buy a subscription then please complete the accompanying application form and bring it to the first concert. Payment can be made on the night by cash or cheque but I an afraid that, because of the terms of our agreement with the bank, we cannot accept card payments for subscriptions.
